The New Year is here and new resolutions are in the making. If burning more calories is on your list then consider new ways to lose the extra weight. You can shave minutes off your workout and still shed just as much, if not more, from your body with these easy to apply tips.
Move More
Rather then focusing on the minutes logged at the gym, move more throughout the day. Take mini breaks from your daily routine. Stand up and walk around the office and stretch every hour. Walk to work or park farther away so you can walk the parking lot. Another good tip is to use the stairs instead of the elevator. Moving your body in any way will help you feel more energized. Plus you will burn more calories. (more…)

Exercise is a very important component of a natural weight loss program. There are a lot of natural weight loss methods out there, but among all of them, those which include exercising and workouts are the ones which are more likely to work, long term. That’s because a lot of those who have succeeded in losing weight using natural weight loss programs that don’t include exercise have actually gained back the weight they have lost. If you want to lose weight, and maintain your weight loss, then exercise has to be an integral part of your natural weight loss program.
Natural weight loss through exercise has been very popular for centuries. This is because as a natural weight loss method, exercise has been, and still is, very effective. Just compare the body of a sedentary person with the body of someone who exercises regularly and you will immediately see major differences in their appearance, and even in their overall health. Most sedentary people are those in need of natural weight loss programs because they are either overweight or obese.
There are 2 kinds of exercises usually used in natural weight loss. These are cardio workouts and strength training.

Most people will probably think “I’m just not the physical type of guy” or “Exercise is pain and there’s no room for pain in my life” when exercise is suggested as a way to healthy weight loss. Well, guess what: exercise, along with a proper diet is a necessity to losing weight in a healthy manner. There is just no way of getting around it. True, subscribing to a crash diet plan will get someone to shed those unwanted pounds. However, sooner or later, the crash dieter will realize that the pounds will slowly creep back, with a vengeance. Millions have become disillusioned with seeing huge numbers weeks after getting off a fad diet that did have them lose some pounds.

Going to the gym to workout may be a bit too demanding of your schedule. There are kids at home, reports to be done and so many things to do. You constantly find yourself at home, with so little time for your weight loss programs. Why not exercise at home? But even if you consider exercising at home, you may not have enough knowledge of how to start. Here’s how: (more…)

I can’t remember when health, fitness and exercise were not part of who I am. From representing my school in track and field to representing my country in field hockey, hiking for fun and challenge to working out in the gym, you name it, I might have done it.
One of the things I have also done in the name of health and fitness is to listen to the myriad of myths which many women believe and use to keep themselves fat, unhealthy and unfit. What is infuriating is that they hold these fallacies dear and would hear nothing to the contrary.
Today I share with you the 5 most common myths that are shared with me. Not only do I want to dispel them, but I also want to motivate women everywhere to free their minds and work their bodies. So here goes. (more…)

Pilates and weight loss: are they a match made in heaven? As far as exercise routines go, pilates can be a beneficial addition to your weight loss plan, simply because it helps sculpt your muscles to be long and lean. Long, lean muscles means a slender, lithe figure.
Even better, when you have more lean muscle mass, you boost your metabolism and burn more calories, which means easier weight loss over the long run.
Pilates also has plenty of other great benefits, like improving your posture, breath control, muscle strength, physical endurance, and balance. Not to mention helping you get into great shape overall, which can’t help but boost your confidence and self-esteem! (more…)

We all know that exercise is an important part of weight loss, whether you are following a traditional diet or simply making an effort to improve your lifestyle habits. Unfortunately, fitness to many people means enduring painful, unpleasant workout routines, all for the sake of achieving the desired end result. Worse, people often spend a lot of money on gym memberships and exercise equipment for their homes – and end up using them as clothing racks and dust catchers.
Have you done this too?
I’ve got good news for you today: it’s very easy to create an exercise routine that you will truly LOVE, not just endure. And when you find activities that you actually enjoy doing, how much more committed will you be to keeping up with them for the rest of your life? (more…)

When you work out, do you usually focus on something else? Do you watch television while walking on the treadmill, or space out while weight training? If so, you could be decreasing the intensity and effectiveness of your exercise routine.
The reason for this is simple: if you’re not really paying attention to what you’re doing, you are probably not doing it as effectively as you could be.
Try this next time you work out: (more…)

One of the biggest excuses people use for avoiding regular exercise is that they don’t have time for it. In our busy, fast-paced world, who can spare 30 to 60 minutes a day for working out? You may be surprised by just how much of your day is “wasted” on non-essential activities that you could use for exercise – for most people it will be way more than 30 minutes.
Examples: You spend 2 hours getting ready for work in the morning, taking more than 30 minutes to iron your outfit, make and pack your lunch, and other activities that you could have done the night before and left room for a morning workout routine. You finish eating dinner at 6:30pm and your favorite television show doesn’t start until 8:00pm – so you channel surf through mindless shows that you don’t care about for 1 1/2 hours – when you could have easily squeezed in a great workout! Walking is probably the best exercise for a human being as we are for it. It can also help a lot in weight loss plus you get other benefits like better sleep at night and reduced stress during the day. I am proponent of that exercise and I myself walk regularly and I actually enjoy it. It is much better than other forms of exercise like running or weight lifting because walking does not increase your appetite afterwords like the other forms do. A 1 hour continuous walking every day is adequate for your health and weight loss program, but if you are not used to it you can start with 20 minutes or 30 every day and then gradually increase the time-length of your walks.
