<p>In today&#8217;s hectic world it seems as if everyone you encounter is facing some sort of major upheaval in their life. Relationships are changing or ending, others are facing financial problems – even the good stuff like an expanded family or annual holidays can&#8217;t help but add to the stress. With so much change it&#8217;s easy to sometimes feel just like a ping pong ball being bounced around instead of in control of your own life.</p>
<p><strong>Turmoil Has Its Good Points</strong></p>
<p>Some issues such as home loss or death or injury of loved ones is nothing to make light of by any means. But life, in all its complexity, always seems to have something major going on &#8211; something we have to deal with and face, or ignore and hope it goes away. Problems rarely ever do just magically disappear. But the one advantage of turmoil is that when Life&#8217;s frenzy gets overwhelming it forces us to really look at what matters to us. Hard times strip everything superficial down to the bone and makes us take a cold hard look at our priorities. <span id="more-523"></span></p>
<p><strong>Turmoil can show us what we&#8217;re made of.</strong></p>
<p>When it&#8217;s all hitting the fan how we as individuals react can be telling. Do you shut down and self-medicate? Or do you throw on a pair of running shoes and get moving? When someone hits rock bottom financially, romantically, you name it, the one winning piece of news is that it crystallizes just how very little we have control of. It also highlights the things we <em>can</em> tackle.</p>
<p></p>
<p>For instance, say everything&#8217;s going wrong AND you need to lose 50 lbs to top it all off. Right there you&#8217;ve got one thing that you can personally control. This isn&#8217;t to say it will be easy; it will take work, dedication, support – but with each mile walked or each good day without putting on the pounds you will have at least one corner of your life where you feel like you own it.</p>
<p>You will also have a positive place to put some of your focus. Sure it&#8217;s mostly a mental psych out but I recently started walking an hour every day, and now I look at it as my treat instead of my chore. As cheesy as it sounds I thank my legs, my arms, my life for giving me the chance to do it because I have friends who can&#8217;t walk; I have a gift in my own two legs. I&#8217;ve also gotten into the game of “how well can I eat today?” and I&#8217;m into the tekkie tools (from websites to phone apps) that support me.</p>
<p></p>
<p>Has it resolved any of my other problems? No. But it&#8217;s helping me to feel strong again, to feel capable and confident.</p>
<p>So whatever you choose, joining a softball team, learning to paddle board or just putting one foot in front of the other – when life gets you down get moving. The rest of your woes won&#8217;t magically disappear but once you see the results of your applied focus and effort you will most likely see how to apply such problem-solving skills to the issues that once seemed insurmountable.</p>
<p>And you&#8217;ll look freaking awesome in those skinny jeans, so that doesn&#8217;t hurt, does it?</p>

<p>Weight loss can be a real challenge for someone who used to have an ideal body weight. There are many weight loss diet plans out there and quite a lot of diet pills and medications that promise to shed off the pounds in a short period. Drinking the required eight to ten glasses of water every day will help flush out the toxins, fat and impurities in the body. Increasing your fiber intake is also a key to cleansing the body. Fiber from fruits and vegetables is essential for good digestion and increased metabolism thereby resulting to achieving weight loss. Second, breaking your food into smaller portions of five to six meals will also help you digest food better and will keep you full in between regular meal times. Third, reducing your fat and calorie intake will cut down your body’s ability to store them when you do not exercise, therefore weight loss can occur even during rest. Lastly, try not to eat a late night snack. Ideally, you should not be eating anything three hours before you hit the sheets in order for your systems to function properly during sleep.</p>

<p>Simple changes that can result to weight loss can be made by adopting healthier options for food choices. For example, you can replace soda with water, which will tremendously decrease your calorie intake. In many studies, people have reported a weight loss of up to ten pounds by simply reducing or avoiding the drink. <p>The best standard of healthy diets you can maintain is simply as not forbidding yourself to eat a large variety of foods. This is very important as you maintain your health in safe because different foods contribute nutrition that will somehow help to attain healthy diets. In addition, eating nutritious fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains; and foods great in carbohydrates, vitamins, fiber, and minerals; low in fat; and free of cholesterol should always be considered to attain healthy diet as well as the amount of the different foods that you eat. However, this should be in proper, well-guided and well-planned to assure that you really maintain healthy diets.</p>
<p>Limitation is the best key word that you should always bear. If you think that the foods you eat are too much for your body to utilize, and then limit yourself.  Just make it sure that your over all healthy diets are balanced and well-managed. These are the simplest tips for you to be aware in planning healthy diets.  Below are the basic guidelines to help you more in attaining healthy weight loss. <span id="more-502"></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Eat enough of high-fiber food like berry, veggies, legumes, and whole grains. These delightful carbohydrates are healthful and relatively have little calories. You need to take 20 to 30 grams of fiber everyday so that there will be less effect on insulin and blood sugar.</li>
<li>Limit yourself in taking of sweet foods, cultivated grain products like white bread, and much salty junk foods.  A lot of sugar-containing foods are also high in fat that is not good for your healthy diets.</li>
<li>Have a limit in eating an animal fat. Eating animal fat has negative effects because this will cause to high blood pressure. Choose food that is nonfat or low-fat or nonfat dairy products to prevent from being unhealthy. Instead, eat more fish and nuts, which are not fatty foods.</li>
<li>Eat a variety of foods. Prevent eating the same foods within a day. It is very important to satisfy yourself in eating varied foods but it is very essential to monitor always the foods that you take to ensure that you will only get the necessary nutrients.</li>
<li>Stop getting vitamins and minerals from supplements instead get all these from foods. Remember that these supplements can’t substitute the vitamins that we can get from foods and for healthy diets.</li>
<li>Lastly, you moderate yourself in drinking alcohol. Too much drinking alcohol steers towards health problems and obviously, alcoholic drinks will add many calories to your diet and affect your healthy diets.</li>

<p>Rather then focusing on the minutes logged at the gym, move more throughout the day. Take mini breaks from your daily routine. Stand up and walk around the office and stretch every hour. Walk to work or park farther away so you can walk the parking lot. Another good tip is to use the stairs instead of the elevator. Moving your body in any way will help you feel more energized. Plus you will burn more calories. <span id="more-495"></span></p>

<p>Work your little muscles first, at the gym. Your arms vs. your legs, to get a more balanced figure. You will be able to do more exercises, and see sculpting much faster. <p>So what is the best way to trim your waistline without risking your health? According to Paul A. Achoa, a health and fitness expert who writes instructionals focused on <a href="http://www.kingofhowto.com/How-to-Lose-Weight.html">how to lose weight</a>, the best diet plans are centered on eating.</p>
<p>&#8220;It may seem counter-intuitive, but eating is a critical part of any weight-loss program.&#8221; Achoa said. &#8220;That being said, you need to eat the right things.&#8221;</p>
<h3>Foods that promote weight loss</h3>
<p><span id="more-490"></span><br />
Achoa recommends foods high in fiber, because they tend to be lower in calories and have the power to curb hunger.</p>
<p>&#8220;Fiber helps reduce hunger in two ways,&#8221; he said. &#8220;First, it helps regulate blood-sugar levels by preventing big surges in insulin. Second, it takes longer to digest, which ultimately keeps you feeling full for longer periods of time.&#8221;</p>
<p></p>
<p>Achoa says foods rich in sugar tend to promote hunger, because they trigger big insulin spikes, which lowers blood glucose levels and causes hunger.</p>
<p>Achoa says dieters should avoid foods with high glycemic values, such as white bread, white rice, potatoes and corn. Instead, he recommends high-fiber whole grains, cucumbers, cauliflower and leafy green vegetables, which have lower glycemic values.</p>
<p>“Foods that have a high glycemic index enter the blood-stream quickly,&#8221; he said. &#8220;When this happens, the body releases insulin to deal with the increased blood sugar levels. Studies have shown that when this happens, the body begins to make fat.&#8217;</p>
<h3>Benefits of low-glycemic foods</h3>
<p>While high-glycemic foods spur weight gain, low-glycemic foods encourage weight loss. Achoa says that, because foods with a low glycemic value take longer to digest, insulin levels don&#8217;t ascend as quickly, and the body is able to enjoy a steady stream of energy without storing as much fat. Because these foods also tend to be rich in fiber, they are good at curbing appetites.</p>
<p>&#8220;It may seem counter-intuitive, but studies have shown that people who eat big, whole-grain breakfasts tend to lose more weight, because the fiber keeps them feeling fuller for longer periods of time,&#8221; Achoa said. &#8220;So, it&#8217;s not just about eating breakfast; it&#8217;s about eating high-fiber, protein rich foods that will make the entire dieting process easier in the long-run.&#8221;</p>
<p>By consistently eating a high-fiber diet, Achoa says dieters will see quicker results without having to endure the hunger pains associated with the typical crash dieting plans.</p>

<p>One of the leading factors in staying in shape is the selection of foods you choose to consume and in what quantity. Accept it or not, but most diseases today are caused by an unhealthy dieting and the lack of nutrient-rich calories needed to assist our immune system.</p>
<p>Stay away from the processed and unrefined foods and watch your energy levels increase and stress levels go down. Picking the right types of food enables our bodies to properly regulate the blood sugar levels.</p>
<p>The right way to advance metabolism and shed fat naturally is from eating the right class of foods. Maintaining the weight loss will not be difficult and there will be no side effects to deal with from pills or unhealthy diets.</p>
<p>Increase performance levels by eating good food sources that provide essential amounts of energy.</p>
<p>Correct food chooses <span id="more-484"></span></p>
<p>Picking the best kinds of meat and poultry to consume comes to rest on selecting lean cuts and avoiding harmful fat and cholesterol. A few types of beef and chicken to include in your daily meal plan are: sirloin and tenderloin, chicken or turkey breast, and lean chops of pork.</p>

<p>Foods that have been changed from their natural state are considered processed foods and should be cut from a healthy diet at all costs. Most of these foods are processed with Trans fats in order to preserve the shelf life of the product. These types of foods will increase weight gain and screw up the systems in the body.</p>
<p>Time and amount you should eat</p>
<p>The amount of food consumption is too much compared to what we really need. Make sure to intake the correct amount of good calories needed to maintain a healthy level of fitness and keep your current weight.</p>
<p>Increase metabolism and fat loss by eating small meals during the day. A good guide to go by is six small meals spread out 3 to 4 hours apart during the day. Smaller meals will help control appetite and burn more total calories at the end of the day.</p>
<p>Dieting is not the same as healthy eating</p>
<p>Going on a fat loss diet tricks the body into believing it is starving and causes it to save fat for energy. More weight will be put on at a faster pace when the individual starts to eat normal again. This sequence of weight loss and gain has become known as the Yo-yo effect.</p>
<p>The process of eating healthy is a good habit that is formed from doing things in a certain way, simply because we have done them over and over again in that exact way. You want to make the right decisions from being properly educated and not following the quick fix.</p>
<p>Eating healthy boils down to moderation and a little common sense. Get into the habit of making the right food choices and aim for realistic goals at the end of the day and begin to live a healthier lifestyle.</p>

<p>Have you tried everything you can to increase your motivation to get in shape, but, you still can&#8217;t get motivated to lose weight? Well, there is another little trick I did myself that helped me out personally with getting more motivation, self discipline, and willpower to stick with my diet and exercise program. Take some time out of your day and read on to learn more&#8230;  <span id="more-480"></span></p>
<p><strong>First, Here Are Some Common Ways To Get Motivation&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>1. Coming up with a reasonable goal that is attainable but very motivating. This could be something such as losing 10 pounds a month, dropping 2 dress sizes in a month, etc.</p>
<p></p>
<p>2. Writing down your goals and keeping them visible. This is a very simple but powerful motivator.</p>
<p>3. Watching motivating videos. YouTube doesn&#8217;t just have hilarious cats and babies, they also have a ton of motivational videos of folks just like you and me who struggled with diet and exercise&#8230; and then overcame their weaknesses&#8230; and then FINALLY reached their goals!</p>
<p>4. Reading success stories. Success stories, such as my story on how I lost 52 pounds in 8 weeks by using a simple diet program, are very motivating. This is not just because of the goals that were accomplished by the individual, but also because of the fact that success stories detail everything that was used (such as the diet, the exercise program, etc.) that caused the success. So this in turn will provide motivation and information.</p>
<p>5. Seeing transformation photos. Transformation photos are even more powerful when they are accompanied with #4 above.</p>
<p>6. And more.</p>
<p><strong>But, What Do You Do When The Common Motivational Boosters Don&#8217;t Work?</strong></p>
<p>Well, if you are finding that the common ways of motivation are not really working for you, then there is another simple trick you can do. This was something that worked for me personally when I reached a point in my diet and exercise program where I started to lose motivation&#8230;</p>
<p>What I did was I put a number on everything! What does that mean? Well, many of us love numbers. Numbers are motivating, inspiring, and very exciting. If you transfer that into diet and exercise, then you can certainly make your weight loss goals more exciting!</p>
<p>Putting a number on everything means for example coming up with mini goals that are attached to numbers. For example, you could have goals of trying to accomplish a certain amount of calories burned for the day, a certain amount of calories eaten for the day, the amount of ounces of water you drink for the day, accomplishing a total amount of sit-ups or push-ups throughout the day, and more.</p>
<p>Bottom line, there&#8217;s just something about numbers! If you are feeling less and less motivated with your diet and exercise program, then I highly recommend you consider coming up with and accomplishing mini goals with numbers attached. Try it!</p>

<p>As soon as you start dropping weight, it&#8217;s important you begin thinking about how you are going to maintain that weight loss. Tuck the fact firmly in the back of your mind, that less than 10 percent of those who lose weight, successfully keep it off.</p>
<p>You should congratulate yourself on losing weight, but the real challenge is in keeping it off forever. Ninety percent gain weight back again because they have focused only on their initial weight loss goal. They followed an eating plan until they got to a desired number on the scale. And then, lapse back into the old lifestyle that put the pounds on in the first place.</p>
<p>You can learn how to maintain the weight you loss by learning and applying a few techniques in your everyday life. <span id="more-478"></span></p>
<p>Do the best with what you have available. Sometimes you&#8217;ll not be in a perfect situation with the healthiest choices, but make do with what is there. If you don&#8217;t make a not so healthy choice, don&#8217;t beat yourself up for it.</p>
<p></p>
<p>Eat tasty foods. Use the finest ingredients to make the most delicious meals.</p>
<p>If you want to indulge and be bit naughty, make it from scratch.</p>
<p>Use a tape measure to keep tabs on your weight and every now and then, weigh yourself.</p>
<p>If you really struggle with exercising regularly, do other activities to get your heart rate up and strengthen all of your muscles.</p>
<p>Eat whole foods and healthy oils. Don&#8217;t be sold on the philosophy that low fat and high carb is the strategy to use. High fat isn&#8217;t the solution either, but healthy oils aren&#8217;t the enemy. The right oils can help speed up your metabolism.</p>
<p>Find and stick to an eating pattern that works for you, whether it be three meals a day, three meals with snacks in between, or &#8220;grazing&#8221; throughout the day.</p>
<p>Think of the health you have now and your future health, every single day. Do you want to enjoy your future years? Or, do you want to sit around talking about all the things that ail you as you pop pills to control your symptoms?</p>
<p>It&#8217;s crucial to make your health the focal point when developing a healthy lifestyle.</p>
<p>A lot of people are in a rush to lose weight. These individuals spend their entire lives gaining weight and losing weight. Temporarily on diets; just wanting to rid of the weight as fast as possible. They don&#8217;t stop to consider the effect on their health. To paraphrase an old adage, &#8220;if you don&#8217;t have your health, you don&#8217;t have much.&#8221; Simply being thin will mean nothing if you compromise your health along the way.</p>
<p>You now have some knowledge on how to maintain weight loss. Grant yourself some time to get use to a new and healthy lifestyle and take joy in yourself along the way. Years from now, you&#8217;ll be grateful for the changes you&#8217;ve made.</p>
